Terms and Conditions
General
All sales are made subject to these terms and conditions. These terms and conditions replace any previously printed terms and conditions.
Price
All prices are quoted in £ sterling per lens, exclusive of postage, packing and VAT. VAT will be charged at the rate in force at the time of despatch. Unless otherwise expressly agreed in writing, the price of the goods will that in force on the day of delivery. The seller reserves the right to alter prices at any time.
Payment
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, payment is due by the 25th day of the month following invoice. Interest may be levied on all overdue amounts at the rate of 2% per month.
Delivery
Unless otherwise agreed in writing the place of delivery shall be the buyers normal place of business
Goods lost or damaged in transit
If the buyer has goods lost or damaged in transit. Leicester Optical Ltd will replace or credit for such goods, provided that the buyer reports such loss or damage in writing within 7 days of such an incident occurring.
Returns & queries
All returned goods must be accompanied by a copy of the original paperwork. Lenses supplied as uncuts will only be accepted for replacement, rectification or credit if returned as uncuts. Once a lens has been cut, it is deemed to have been accepted unless specifically agreed in advance.
Cancellations & amendments
Leicester Optical Ltd reserves the right to charge for costs incurred up to the point when an order is either cancelled or amended.
NOTE In order to process orders with minimal errors and delays it is recommended that customers use our standard prescription order forms.
Suitability of product
It is strictly the buyer�s responsibility to specify the lens type, refractive index and other details relevant to the end users satisfaction with the finished spectacles. Unless previously discussed with
Leicester Optical Ltd we are not liable for the suitability of a particular frame or lens type.
NOTE We will be more than happy to advise and calculate lens substances and other details if we are asked to do so before we start to process an order. It is essential that we are supplied with as much information as possible, particularly if we are trying to match or improve lens substance or curves on another pair of spectacles that we are unable to see for ourselves.
Limitation of liability
Leicester Optical Ltds liability (if any) in respect of any rejected or returned goods is strictly limited to the price of the goods or services charged by Leicester Optical Ltd. Any other losses incurred by the buyer are strictly beyond the scope of our liability.
Tolerances
Tolerances are in accordance with.
BS EN 8980-1 : 1997 for single vision and multifocal uncut lenses. BS EN 8980-2 : 1997 for progressive uncut lenses.
BS 2738_1 : 1998 and BS 7394-2 : 1994 for mounted lenses
Half pairs to match
When ordering half pairs the customer must state the form required, the height of the optical centre above a bifocal segment or the thinning prism requirements in a progressive lens. We cannot guarantee colour matching when ordering half pairs of tinted or photochromic lenses and would recommend avoiding such half pairs if at all possible.
Transposition
For the purposes of pricing all surfaced lenses are charged according to the highest total power. Therefore all plus Rxs will be transposed into minus cyl and all minus Rxs will be transposed
into plus cyl. All stock lenses will be charged according to the plus cyl transposition.
Reglazing old frames
Every care is taken when handling all frames, but we cannot accept responsibility if breakages occur to patients own or discontinued frames
C E marking
All ophthalmic lenses supplied by Leicester Optical Ltd are intended for patient use and meet the requirements for class 1 products of the Medical Devices Regulations 1994. All lens packaging displays the C E mark.
