Left school in 1978, was still only 15 years old. I completed a five year apprenticeship as an optical technician with Batemans laboratories, gaining an SMC (tech) qualification in the process. I have been a glazing technician ever since. In more recent years Richard Dodman has taken over responsibility for managing our glazing department but I still help out when necessary, particularly covering for holidays etc.
Launched Leicester Optical in July 1992.

Has been working with us since the beginning, previous to that, she gained valuable experience working for 2 years at Leicester Royal Infirmary's on site dispensing opticians practice, where at a very young age she dealt with more complex and unusual Rx's than you would normally see in many years.
These days Teresa manages most aspects of our business including accounts, customer service issues and quality control. During her 15 years with us we have allowed her a few days off to give birth to 4 children aged 14, 12, 10 and 2.

With over 30 years experience Richard runs our glazing department, where he is in charge of a small team of skilled glazing technicians. Richard has been with us for 7 years and became a director 2 years ago. He also personally looks after all our rimless glazing orders.
